Making a Page Group
When you first start a website, or start a new Page Group, you will be presented with this dialog.
The top of this page gives you some geographical information. For instance, we are editing Linda’s personal web page, located in her public_html directory. “The web pages in this group are located in [root]” means that we are editing the top most set of pages, i.e. the pages in the public_html directory. If a browser goes to the URL www.server.com/~linda/ they will get the index page generated for this page group.
If Linda goes on vacation and wants to set up a special set of pages for that trip, she can create a new page group. Note, a new directory will have to be created first, and the mechanism to do that easily does not yet exist. In that case, the top of the dialog would say something like “The web pages in this group are located in vacation/” and the URL would be www.server.com/~linda/vacation/ SAS would also make a link from the top index to the vacation index, and back.
The next four fields more or less explain themselves. If you have another page that is being used for the index page, the file name can be changed here.
The colors, block quoting (and other attributes to be added) at the bottom of this dialog can be applied to only the index page, all pages in the group, and/or all of the existing pages in the group, depending on which check boxes you choose.
This settings dialog can be revisited at any time by clicking the “Page Group Properties” button when this page group is selected
BUG: Choose the page colors first. When you click on a color, all the text you have entered will revert. Yes, it’s on my fix list.
